You get in touch.

Submit the enquiry form on the Sell page and we’ll call you within 24 hours. The call is short. We just want to confirm the brands you have, the rough volume, and whether collection or drop off works better for you.

Minimum is ten pieces. We take any brand except Shein, Primark, H&M, Boohoo, and Missguided. Unbranded vintage is welcome.

Clothes are collected.

You can drop your pieces off at our South West London base for free, or we can collect from your home for a small fee that comes out of your final payment.

Every seller’s items go straight into clear, labelled bags on arrival and stay that way until they’re listed. Nothing gets mixed up between batches.

We currently only operate within South West London. If you’re further out and have a sizeable batch, drop us a line. We’ll see what’s possible.

03.

Pieces are shot, listed, sold.

Every item is steamed, photographed against a clean backdrop, measured, and listed on the Icania Vinted shop with a written description. Pricing is set by us based on what comparable items are selling for.

From there, we handle everything: replying to buyer messages, packing, posting, and resolving any issues. You don’t need to be involved at any point.

Most pieces list within a fortnight of collection. We’ll send you a link to the shop so you can see what’s gone live.

Money is split.

Whatever sells, we split fifty fifty after Vinted’s buyer protection fee. We pay out monthly by bank transfer once an item has cleared the buyer’s return window.

If you opted for collection, the agreed fee comes out of your share at the first payout.

If it doesn’t sell.

Items stay listed on the rail for three months. After that, they go to one of two places, and you decide which:

Returned to you. Pieces come back, washed and folded. You arrange collection or pick them up.

Donated. Anything you don’t want back is donated to FARA or Oxfam in person. We’ll send you the receipt.

The rule keeps the rail fresh and prevents stock from going stale. It also means sellers aren’t left waiting indefinitely on pieces that aren’t going to move.

What brands do you accept?

Almost any brand. The exceptions are Shein, Primark, H&M, Boohoo, and Missguided. These don’t resell at prices that make the work worthwhile for either of us.

Unbranded vintage is welcome and often does very well. If you’re unsure, send us a list on the enquiry form and we’ll tell you what we can take.

How long do items take to sell?

It varies. Some pieces sell within 24 hours of going live; others take weeks. On average, around 60% of accepted items sell within the first month and 80% by month three.

Pricing, condition, and how on trend a piece is all play a role. We price to move, not to maximise. A piece that sells in two weeks at £45 is better for both of us than one that sits at £65 for six months.

What happens if my items don’t sell?

After three months, anything still on the rail is either returned to you or donated to charity, depending on what you tell us at the start.

Returns: pieces come back washed and folded; you arrange collection or pop by to pick them up. Donations: we drop unsold stock at FARA or Oxfam in person and send you the receipt.

Why a three month rule?

Three months is enough time to give every piece a real shot at selling, spanning two retail seasons and several stock refreshes, without letting the rail go stale.

Stock that’s been listed for too long stops attracting clicks, which drags down the visibility of newer pieces. The rule keeps the shop fresh, and it means sellers aren’t left waiting indefinitely on items that aren’t going to move.

Why a 50/50 split?

Because the work is real. Each piece is steamed, photographed against a clean backdrop, measured, written up, and listed. Then comes replying to buyer messages, packing, posting, and resolving any issues. On average that’s 30 to 45 minutes of work per piece. Before the item has even sold.

50/50 is the standard across UK luxury consignment for this reason. You’re trading half the proceeds for none of the work, and pieces that would otherwise sit in your wardrobe for another year become cash within weeks.

Is there an upfront cost?

No. There’s no joining fee, listing fee, or photography fee. The only cost is collection. If you’d like us to come to you rather than dropping off, a small fee comes out of your final payment. The amount depends on where you are; we’ll confirm on the call.

Who sets the prices?

We do, based on what comparable items are currently selling for on Vinted, eBay, and Vestiaire. We price to move and adjust if a piece is sitting too long.

If you have a strong feeling about a particular item, tell us when we collect. We’ll factor it in but reserve final say.

How do I get paid?

Bank transfer, monthly. We pay out at the start of each month for items that sold and cleared the buyer’s return window in the previous month.

What’s the minimum I can consign?

Ten pieces. Below that, the cost of collection and the time involved doesn’t make sense for either of us.

Where do you operate?

South West London only at the moment. Barnes, Putney, Fulham, Wandsworth, Chiswick, Battersea, and surrounding areas. If you’re slightly further out and have a sizeable batch, get in touch and we’ll see what works.

How do you keep track of my pieces?

Every seller’s items go into clear, labelled bags as soon as they arrive, and stay that way until they’re listed. Nothing gets mixed up between batches, and your share stays tied to your pieces from drop off to payout.

What about returns from buyers?

We handle them. Vinted has a buyer protection window, and any returns or disputes are resolved by us. You’re not involved. If a piece is returned and sold again later, you still get your share. If a piece is returned damaged and we have to refund without recovery, that loss is ours, not yours.

Will my details be shared?

Never. Your contact details are used only to communicate with you about your consignment and your payments. We don’t share, sell, or pass on your information to anyone, ever. See our privacy policy.

Who we are

What we collect

When you submit the enquiry form on our Sell page, we collect:

Your name
Your phone number
Your postcode (and full address only after the initial call, if you proceed)
Information you give us about the items you’d like to consign, including any photos you upload
Email address if you contact us by email

If you proceed with consignment, we additionally collect bank details for payment, kept on file only as long as the consignment relationship is active.

Why we collect it

To respond to your enquiry, manage your consignment, and pay you for items that sell. That’s the only purpose.

How long we keep it

If you submit an enquiry but don’t proceed, we delete your details within 90 days. If you become a seller, we keep your details for as long as the relationship is active and for six years after, in line with HMRC record keeping requirements.

Who we share it with

Nobody. Your details are not sold, rented, or shared with third parties for any reason. The only exception is where we are legally required to disclose information by a court or regulator.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. Email louise@icania.co.uk to exercise any of these and we’ll respond within 30 days.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

By using Icania’s consignment service, you agree to the following. We’ll always confirm the specifics on the call before any items change hands.

The agreement

You consign womenswear pieces to Icania for resale on Vinted under the Icania shop account. Icania does not buy your items outright; ownership remains yours until a buyer purchases the piece, at which point ownership transfers to the buyer.

What we accept

Womenswear in clean, sellable condition. Minimum batch of ten pieces. We don’t accept Shein, Primark, H&M, Boohoo, or Missguided. We reserve the right to decline any item we don’t think will sell.

Pricing

Prices are set by Icania based on comparable sold listings and the condition of the item. We may adjust prices during the consignment period to keep pieces moving.

Splits and payment

Whatever an item sells for, after Vinted’s buyer protection fee, is split fifty fifty between you and Icania. Payouts are made by bank transfer monthly, for items that have cleared Vinted’s buyer return window in the previous month.

Collection fees

If you opt for home collection rather than drop off, the agreed fee is deducted from your share at the first payout.

Three month listing period

Items remain listed for three months from their go live date. After that, unsold items are either returned to you or donated to FARA or Oxfam, based on what you tell us at the start of the consignment.

Returns from buyers

If a buyer returns an item, Icania handles the return. The item, if still sellable, will be relisted; you continue to be entitled to your share if it sells subsequently. If a returned item is damaged in transit and Icania has to refund the buyer without recovering the value, the loss is borne by Icania, not by you.

Liability for items in our care

Icania takes reasonable care of your items but is not insured against loss, theft, or damage while pieces are in our possession. By consigning, you acknowledge that the items remain at your risk. We strongly recommend not consigning anything of significant sentimental value.

Authenticity

By consigning a piece, you warrant that it is authentic and that you have the right to sell it. If a piece is later discovered to be counterfeit, you are responsible for any costs Icania incurs as a result, including buyer refunds.

Withdrawing pieces

You can ask to withdraw any unsold piece at any time during the three month period. We’ll remove the listing and arrange for the item to be returned or collected.

Ending the agreement

Either party can end the consignment relationship at any time for any reason. Pieces in our possession will be returned or, if you prefer, donated.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
